A large package delivery firm has such a policy, which bars any manager from dating any hourly employee--ever or anywhere. One manager began dating an hourly worker from another office. He was warned of the policy violation, but then the pair married, and he assumed they were no longer in violation. Instead, he was fired, and he sued for race discrimination.
